🚨 Severity: MEDIUM
💡 Vulnerability: The timeout parameter in is_reachable was not validated before being passed to subprocess.call with the -W flag.
🎯 Impact: This allowed passing non-integer, negative, or potentially malicious strings to the ping command, leading to unexpected behavior like process hanging (e.g., passing -h) or application errors when string arguments were injected.
🔧 Fix: Added robust type-casting and value validation to ensure the timeout parameter strictly conforms to a positive integer before constructing the command array. Invalid inputs now securely log an error and return False.
✅ Verification: python3 -m unittest test_testping1.py successfully passes with the new test_is_reachable_invalid_timeout cases.
