I can not answer your questions as I have not written reline. I have used Readline in the past though. Yesterday I looked to add a tab-completion example I am not sure if the word "subset" is correct. Subset means it would be derived and Perhaps we can simply state it is API compatible? This of course requires of us to know But I think to answer your question: I think reline is fully compatible with readline |

I am looking at contributing to Reline documentation. I have been studying https://www.gnu.org/software/readline/ to guide my work. I understand that not all of the Gnu functionality is implemented in Reline.
