From 99% to 100% automatic

Describe the issue

I reported a bug to the IO-Meter development team iometer-gmbh/iometer.py#8, but I believe it is caused by Battery Notes. I have observed that Battery Notes repeatedly increases the actual value of 99% to 100% at hourly intervals. However, the integration repeatedly reports a value of 99%, which leads to recurring jumps. The integration reports my current power consumption. The device used for this is battery-powered.

Can you identify the problem? Is it a bug, or do I need to set a setting that I am not aware of?

The device uses 2 AA batteries, not rechargeable batteries.

Hi, from what you show there's no Battery Note attached to this.
Battery Notes would create a Battery Plus sensor within the Diagnostics section that tracks the original battery level sensor you already have, like this.
As your screenshots are showing a battery level sensor that would be the original integrations battery.

You’re right; I deleted the sensor integration again and set the sensor to ignore to see if the fluctuation between 100% and 99% would stop. In the analysis, I noticed that the sensor repeatedly reset to 100%; I suspected that Battery Notes was constantly recalculating the battery life and occasionally displaying 100%. This change is then reflected in the original battery entry. The actual sensor then reports 99% again, creating a cycle.

In my opinion, either the sensor itself is faulty and constantly jumps between values, or it is due to Battery Notes. However, when I removed Battery Notes from the sensor, it remained steady at 99%. To verify this, I have now added Battery Notes again and restarted the process to see if the cycle occurs again and what action is causing it. I also set the percentage display to one decimal place, hoping that it might fluctuate between 99.5% and 99.4%, but that does not seem to be the case.

What further information do you need from me so that we can better understand the problem? I have also reported a problem to the manufacturer, who is reading this and has already contacted me (iometer-gmbh/iometer.py#8 (comment)).

Battery Notes does not update the original sensors value so it would not cause a cycle like that. It only listens and sets the battery plus sensor value on changes of the original.
